South Africa Is Getting Ever Closer

Well I am now under four weeks now until I depart for another three months in South Africa.

The ILP are a team of dedicated researchers gathering reliable scientific data on the density and behaviour of leopards outside of formally protected areas, as well as searching for the elusive black leopard. The majority of African land mass does not fall within game reserves or national parks. It is in these… Continue

Day 2

Wow what an amazing couple of days on here. Think I saw the best of the best specially the first sighting of the 2 cubs and then the 5 male Lions. Can't imagine any thing topping that. But we shall see.

Nick De Jongh and Helen Rohrs - As WE remember them.

The afternoon drive on December 31st was Lieschen's first drive as a camerawoman. On the WEchat, Lieschen's interactions with Pieter, her questions and her giggles were good to our WEheart and we were remembering the good WEmoments we spent with Helen and Nick in the first months of WildEarth.

When Kay asked "Who are Nick and Helen?", I said to myself : "Well, such a question is worth a journey in the past, let's see what I have in my Treasure Chest!"

So, for you Kay and… Continue

New Year

Another Year has come and gone.. Another year of full of excitement, sadness, happiness, pleasure, troubles, mystery.. and more...

I often think of the many many new years I have seen in my life time.. I remember when I was little *vaguely* of spending New years with my Mom and Dad, I usually fell asleep pretty early... When I was older in my preteens and teens we spent many a new year at friends homes or had them at ours. We would eat and play cards and talk and just in general have… Continue

Thank You Stacy!

Stacy Manfredi has been a longtime member of We. Many new members may not know her as she has keeping busy for WE outside of the ning network lately. Stacy put together all the WEangels projects at Facebook and you can see her name on the administration list over at Amazee. Stacy also worked on putting together the list of 143 names, matching ages and genders with gifts for the Dixie Christmas so that Graham and Emily could shop. And she did this in one day on top of her own busy life as a mom… Continue

The Mystery of Discipline

Self-discipline is often estimated as an important component to be effective - be it research or profession or personal life. The traditional concept of discipline seems to be deceiving. It is often recognized as something that is associated with a set of firm guidelines, worry, power, exterior management and penalties. The misconception is probably a impact of the unnecessary attempt of most
