Lol, Ann. Loved your comments. I too love books as well as poetry, and, living in the country is awesome. My chickens were rescues and have come a long way since I've had them. They give me the best eggs and keep me laughing with their antics. I also have two feral cats who I spayed and they've adopted me as their mom. I'd trapped 6 originally when they were babaies but animals and such got the other 4. Now I have two feral house cats, still a bit wild at times but oh so lovely. And my last little friend is a 15 year old pug I adopted last year named Vader. He has the WORST allergies and I've tried everything to help but nothing works in the long term. He is a stinky, gassy little beast and goes everywhere with me. (has massive separation anxiety).
I look forward to chatting with you soon, Hugz,
Val

Hi Ann---I'm from Nova Scotia, so can only watch the p.m drive. After I watch the drive I go to Kids in the Nest and read your comments on the morning drive and the evening drive. Just wanted to say thank you, for all you do. Even if I see the drive---and even though I appreciate all Rexon knows--I find it hard to understand him, and your words are such a big help in that. I really look forward to your writing every day---good job!!! Eleanor

This was a giraffe at the San Diego Wild Animal Park, and our guide had just told us about the different markings on the giraffes and we noticed the hearts. I do love giraffes and it seemed very appropriate! You do a great job, Ann!

Hello Ann. Although I do not chat, I often use KTTN to catch up on drives I haven't seen, or if I've had problems understanding what has been said, most times I can read it on KTTN. Thanks for the great job!

Hi Ann,
Just want to thank you for the fantastic job you do on the drives at KTTN. I ride along on the a.m. drives but, am unable to watch the p.m. drives live. I always check KITTN drive blog to see what I missed. Thanks for all you do.

Bo turns up after three weeks

We had been quite concerned about Bo, who you may remember is a two year old male leopard who we are tracking via a GPS collar. We hadn't received any uploads from Bo's collar for three weeks and to say the least we were getting worried. However he has turned up alive and well and as you can see, he's been a busy boy. The collar stores data and uploads at set times if he is in cell phone range. Thankfully he has moved back into cell coverage. Our thanks to Lela and other ILP members who have been tracking Bo from their homes and keeping us updated. We don't always have a good Internet connection here in the bush, and rely on help from our friends. You can also join the ILP and help us track research animals.

Susan joins the ILP team

We have a new member of the ILP team. Susan Belling has joined us to help with our work in conservation. Susan is a qualified Game Ranger and has recently been leading overland Safaris through main land Africa. Susan wants to pout something back into conservation and has decided to work full time with the ILP. She has been training with Gerrie and Anton over the last weeks, investigating leopard issues on local farms and tracking leopards via telemetry. She is now joining Anton on her first Black Leopard investigation at the Dalton Trust in KZN. Where she will be putting her training into action under the supervision of head researcher Anton. If you would like to welcome Susan then you can become a fan by selecting the link below.
