I am an eagle cam watcher and member of eagle forums and chats.
One nest I have watched for a year is in Norfolk VA at the Norfolk Botainical Garden.
That nest had a tragic year- 5 eggs were laid, two were lost when an intruder chased the pair away for days, two more were laid- the female broke them when it appeared she was startled, - then wonders of wonders she laid one more.
That one hatched and was the cutest thing ever.He was one of the most watched eaglets.
One day one of the photoghraphers pics showed something was growing on his beak.
On May 22 he was taken from the nest and testing showed he had Avian Pox, usually fatal in birds.
He was taken to Wildlife Center of Virginia where he remains getting therapy and thriving.
While chatting one night a member mentioned WE and that it was a live Africa site.
The rest is history- I am seriously addicted.
I have learned so much about the animals, birds, insects, and flora of SA and enjoy every day and thank all who make it possible.
Hello Marie, it is a wonderful website i am so glad you came on here and i am please to meet you. Regards Doris (dot1cha)
