it's in your nature

Hello, the WE Admin Team wanted to share a great idea with all of you, please read a note from Lisa below. Thank you for allowing us to share such a wonderful idea with all of our WEfamily Lisa...it's in your nature!

Your Story: How did you find Wildearth?

I had posted a blog asking how everyone came to become a member of Wildearth. Linda a.k.a Mother Nature and the moderators thought it would be a good idea to post it here for everyone to join in!
So tell us your story.

I used to watch NK and heard about WE starting up on there. I,like Bev, was lucky enough to catch Pieter's first drive. Then came the awful time of sitting and waiting for the "dump" and hoping to get a seat on the "Tank". :) WE has come a very long way since then and just keeps getting better and better. My husband and I are both hooked in a major way. Can't thank everyone involved enough. You have added much enjoyment and knowledge to the world. Thank you!
My story is not that exciting but, hey, why not.
Me and my friend are both love animals. I am not much into technology and would rather go outside and look around, but my freind loves the computer and she somehow found this website. I never asked her were she got it from. But from the first time I got on I could not get enough. I wanted to see the lions and elephants that had only seen on recordings and in books LIVE! I have not been let down.
For me it happened by lucky accident:
One day I searched in google for somthing relating to Africa and somehow I found the side of africam. Then I became curious and looked for further cams.
I watched PP and several birdcams and registered myself in the storks forum. there we often tell about the different sightings, and someone adviced me WE.
Since then this is my favourite cam.
Some one posted the link for the first live game drive from Djuma back in April 2007...I watched that and was hooked...watch as many drives as work and life allow....love it.
I found my way to WE over my Spacefriend Artemisia by accident during this summer. While she posted some photos she made at WE in her Blogg I found this photos surfing arround.
Ever since I stop by to watch the waterhole or the drives before I start working early in the morning (CET- Germany) and sometimes in the afternoon. For me it is kind of a short vacation every day.
I found the site while on the South Africa National Parks (SANPARKS) Kruger forum. We wre discussing the NatGeo safari live tv series that was on for a week last month. They said they were first to do a live daily safari and had a lot of teething problems, someone on the forum happened to mention how fab WE site was and the rest is history!! I live in Scotland but have travelled to Kruger 3 times in the last year and a half and I'm heading back at the end of January so WE is giving me my fix til then. We actually stayed two nights in Arathusa last May which is the next lodge to Djuma and they share land so have actually met Safari and Karula together one night and also saw Wonky the ellie and mojo the white tailed mongoose so it's amazing to stay in touch with them all.
Well it all started with the European cup soccer! My hubby was hogging the TV and thought I will look on the computer to see if you can watch the soccer live so that I could at least watch something on TV. I started googling around looking for live TV and came across a website called WE - well I never told my hubby I was looking for soccer on the net - and I wont give him the idea either. I have hardly watched TV since lol - thanks to the WEteam :)

I would love to tell you how I found WE, but it seems so long ago that I found and joined it, that I just can`t remember. I used to watch Pete`s Pond every day. so it must have evolved from there. I am thrilled that I found WE, no matter how it happened. Rexon was doing the first drive I ever saw and I became hooked.
I am so thankful to all who have made it possible for me to see and enjoy the wonderful animals, birds, insects and reptiles of South Africa and for all the most interesting information they have given me. I hope this will continue for a long time to come.
My husband and I were lucky enough to visit Djuma Vuyatela lodge for our honeymoon in December 2007. We drove past Pieter and the WE jeep a couple of times, and I had wondered what they were recording for - it hadn't occured to me that it was a live broadcast.

We then passed them in our jeep on one of the drives and our game driver Charles stopped and spoke to Pieter. I asked Pieter what he was recording for, and he said WE. I still didn't realise it was live! When I got back home I googled it, and I've been here every since. We'll definitely be going back to Djuma - next time we'll take advantage of the WE/Djuma special offer!

I was told by a friend of mine. I'm telling everyone that I know about WE. It's the best!
