I'm one of those who cannot do a system restore due to various reasons. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling an older version of flash.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the new version of flash.
I've reinstalled IE8 and ActiveX controls.

I will try tossing my computer out the door next, let ya know how it works.. ; )
OK folks... as many of you know I am trying to help figure this out. I've even made the problem happen on 3 of my machines to see what I can tell. This far it looks like a bug with the latest version of adobe flash player. I have to imagine the WE stream is encoded a bit differently then all the others you can see and that's why it doesn't work when others do. There are surely other sites though with the same issue as can be seen by a quick look at the adobe support forums (though i couldn't find a fix).

For those of you who wish to downgrade (I'm sure most of you do) and who can not get system restore to work (very common) I am working on a guide for how to do so and I will post it back here when done. Stay tuned.
1. Windows XP, HP Media Center computer
2. Tried firefox (in the hopes it would work) and that did not work as it said "Zaplive requires the new update for adobe" as soon as I clicked the site to open it. I installed it and had black screen immediately. I actually use IE7 and it does not work there
3. RoadRunner, cable modem
4. The latest version- 10.0.32.18
5. Just updated the other day
6.I have Webroot internet essentials (has a firewall) all adobe products including their parent apps have been granted permission
7.same as in 6
8.no
9.I can see all bird cams. Not deer or wildearth
10. Yes africam comes in perfectly
11. There is an uninstall tool available on adobe to do a clean uninstall of the program. But since so many of us are having this problem it seems unlikely we all have corrupt programs.
12. have uninstalled and reinstalled adobe flash and shockwave players several times, have run virus scans. Hesitate to do a system restore as then all windows updates will have to be redone, and there are some critical ones. This one from last week may have contributed to this problem in fact. The update for Adobe would come back again too, and it is a critical one as there is a bad security flaw in it.

Thanks for your help.

OK here is my guide for going back to the previous version of flash player. First let me make a couple of disclaimers here...

The latest flash update that caused these problems addressed a security problem wherein a malicious website could potentially allow someone to gain control of your computer. If you revert back to this previous version you will be at risk of that security vulnerability. The likelihood you will have a problem with this is extremely low, but none the less do this at your own risk and don't come crying back to me if anything bad should ever happen.

Also - I give these instructions just on my own good will. I do not represent WildEarth, Ning, Adobe, or anyone but myself.

and finally - these instructions apply only to Windows users. I am unsure if any other operating systems (mac, linux) are affected by the issue but if so someone will need to make another guide for those operating systems.

So here goes...

To revert to the previous version of flash player (which works here on WE) you first need to uninstall the new version and then install the old version. There are a few special steps though so please print this guide out and follow carefully.

First you need to download the following files and SAVE THEM DIRECTLY TO C:\
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_fl...

and

http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive...

Now close all windows including your browsers (you should have this printed to read off of)

Click on the start button and then click on "run" (or go to accessories, system tools, command prompt).

In that box type in (without the quotes) "c:\uninstall_flash_player.exe /clean" and press enter.

If you get a security warning click on "Run" or allow or whatever.

Click "Yes"

Click "Close"

REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER (a full reboot - not sleep mode or hibernate)

Once loaded back up go to my computer and then the C: drive.

Open (or extract first if you need to) the "fp10_archive.zip" file and then navigate to fp10_archive/10r22_87

Depending on which browser you are using you will run different files.

For Internet Explorer - run "flashplayer10r22_87_winax.exe"
For Firefox and pretty much any other browser run "flashplayer10r22_87_win.exe"

When you try to run them if you have not yet extracted the file you may get a couple of warnings. Just click on "run"

When done click Close and you should be able to enjoy WE once again.

Once verified to be working you can go back to your C:\ drive via My computer and delete the "fp10_archive.zip" and "uninstall_flash_player.exe" files.

Enjoy!
To the WEcrew... I wonder if maybe there is a compatibility type update for you encoding software that would be needed to support this new version of the flash player? Something must be different in your stream though that causes the issue and not on the others on the site. Like maybe the encoding standard or bitrate? or the wide aspect ratio maybe?

I did notice a debug version of the player is available that might help understand the issue but i haven't tried it.

Just some suggestions... Based on the number of recent posts on Adobe's flash support forum though something is up with the update and not just on your stream.
Oh thank you SOOOOO much, Snert. This fix was simple and worked.. yay! Thanks for taking the time to write it up for those of us having trouble, it's very much appreciated. =)

Snert, I thank you very much. However, it will not work for me. When I tried to install the flashplayer10r22_87_win.exe I get the warning that this is not the newest version and that I need to go to adobe and get the newest. I click the x to close that box, and installation stops. I tried clicking ok, and installation stopped. I have no windows open and even turned off my anti virus. Any suggestions? I forgot to mention that I even tried downloading one from old version.com after doing the removal. When I got to wildearth, it told me I needed the newest version and that was that
Thanks

Make sure if you are using IE that you are not installing the win.exe but this one: - flashplayer10r22_87_winax.exe

GL, I know how frustrating it can be. =(
that is the one I used. Would not even let me install it. I am so frustrated now. Hopefully WE will try to fix the problem. I don't know what else to do
thanks

Make sure you run that command right. "c:\uninstall_flash_player.exe /clean" - after the .exe you should have a space then the /clean that is the part that tells it to let you install the older version again when you try.
