Hi,
We have been in contact with the folks at Ning inre the issues that have been going on in our WEchat Room.
They have asked us to help them troubleshoot by answering a few questions below. With other comparisons that some of us have been doing when we have troubles, I have also included a few more questions. Hopefully together we can all help in getting this problem sorted out. Thanks so much for your help in this.

Please share your answers as briefly as you can, it would be most helpful if you add the "question number with your input.......

We're working on improving functionality of chat and your input would be really helpful! Could you answer the following questions:

1. Do you notice that these issues are occur more at certain times of day?

2. Does this happen more when there are a certain number of other people in the chat room?

3. What Internet Browser and Version are you using?

4. Do you have virus scan software installed on your computer? If so, what kind?

This additional info will really help our engineers find the root cause of this. :)

Additional Questions.......

5. What type of operating system(xp, vista, mac, etc.) do you use with chat?

6. On a "regular" basis when the chat problems happen with you, how many other tabs, windows, cams or other programs do you have running at the same time?

7. How much RAM Memory do you have on your pc? (right click on My Computer icon on desktop or in start/programs..info can be found under "general tab" area)

8. What type of PC Processor do you have(asking to see if it is strong enough to handle all you are asking it to do) - (ie something like AMD Athlon 3200+, Intel Celeron, etc.) (right click on My Computer icon on desktop or in start/programs..info can be found under "general tab" area)

9. If there is any thing else that you can think of that could be causing the problems, please feel free to share.

ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS ADDED ON NOV. 10th

10. Please share what type of Internet Connection that you have and the Provider.

11. Do you have Firewalls running on your system?

12. Ning Chat is "javascript" .. do you have javascript blockers on?

I'm finding that even the main page is not fully loading most of the time or takes almost 3 minutes to fully load. When I look at the status bar, googleads seem to be stalling out. I was unable to get Chat to load at all yesterday.

I am finding it very hard to log out also. This is a security problem for me, so I'm not sure I will be coming back very often unless I see a notice on the main page that this issue is fixed.

I have a high broadband connection running around 10560 kbps or higher usually.
I have a MacBook Pro running 10.4.11 with 1 GB 667MHz RAM and usually am using FireFox 3.0.4.
I have the Mac Firewall acitvated and javascript.

I never had problems with this site loading until the last few days.

Could all the Twitter usage on the main page be adding to the problem?

I really hope this issue gets fixed. I have no problems with any other sites I visit on the internet loading. It is discouraging my participation in WENing.

Thanks to the moderators for asking for details on the problem and seeking solutions for us.
I just tried coming in by Safari, and then looked at the activity window. It is showing the "timed out" and "lost network connection" with three areas:

http://wildearth,ning.com.woopra-ns.com is the first part of all of them. That is where the problem is. I took a screen shot to find this.

Everyone can go to the activity area to see if their browsers are showing this same problem.
I just came in from FireFox and looked at the Tools-Error console.

In Errors it says: error: newtab is not defined line 911 sourcefile http://wildearth.ning.com

In the Message area it says: security error: content at http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net may not load data from http://wildearth.ning.com

I am not computer literate, but I think there is a conflict between using both google analytics and woopra. They are competing companies. Just my thoughts on it.
The main page here is loading fine for me now. The woopra things are gone from the error messages.

They are still on the WE home page though, so the cam won't load for me on Firefox. It will load on Safari, but shows error messages. I emailed webmaster@wildearth.tv, but I have not received a response. I think Graham and Emily may be on vacation. I hope someone at WE will follow up and remove the woopra things that are causing the problem. If anyone here has input with the webmaster, I would appreciate your letting them know.

watching this has become useless no matter the time but drives are worse. Cache clear etc... got in chat twice today, first time but now can't at all again. Disconnects.

I am on Verizon DSL with a newer computer and everything is update and I get every other cam just fine.
