Hello Aquila,
How are you,
Its great to talk about the legendary Mapogos of Sabi Sands that also at such a time when their throne is under constant threat from younger rival male coalition, just 2 days ago malamala reported that 2 younger Mapogos/Mlowathi males had actually come very close to confronting the new Kruger coalition of 5 male lions who are consistently encroaching on Mapogo territory.
It was actually good that they did not confront thes 5 new males because if the clash would have taken place then the 2 mapogo brothers would have been heavily outnumberd which could have been fatal for the two brothers,Now the Mapogo coalition needs to be carefull because a lot of lion population of sabi sands is dependent on them for protection because right now we have more than 25 lion cubs who have been fathered by Mapogo Males , So there are lots of lives which are dependent on Mapogos for Protection and for this reason we hope that the time has come for all 6 Mapogos to Reunite once again and they should confront these 5 New kruger males by forming a United Front, because even today when all 6 Mapogos are together then they are the biggest and strongest coalition in Sabi Sands even today. All Wildearth viewers would love to enjoy sightings of these 6 Magnificent Males together just like we had ther sightings in years 2008 and 2009, all wildearth viewers miss the Magnificent Mapogo Males A Lot.

Long Live The Mapogo Coalition.
Hi Ravi, There was a confirmed sighting of all 6 Mapogo males being together about 2 months ago. First time in a very long time so maybe we will see them reuniting more frequently with the threat of these new males trying to take over their territory. :)

I too hope the cubs fathered by the Mapogo coalition can survive the threat of new males coming into the territory.
Death of Kinky tale/Shaka Mapogo

I am really shocked to find Videos by muttluver on youtube which say that our fears came true and there had been a fearsome battle between the new coalition of 5 males and the Two Mapogos Kinky Tale and Mr T and Kinky Tale had been killed in that fight god knows what the future holds for the numerous young cubs who have been fathered by the two mapogos, can anybody confirm the reports claiming that kinky tale mapogo is now dead and if that is the case then what actually happened.

Hi I think personally its about time that the Mapogo coalition is no longer dominating the area.

I do think its sad that Mr Kinky Tail is in lion heaven now.. ( I really do) and i had to laugh when i heard that Mr T had to run for his live... ( I wish he could have runned together with Mr Kinky T ).

On The other hand: The Mapogo Coalition is reponsible for the kills of so many other lions , lionesse's and cubs.

So i find it very hard have an opinion about the events.

I also think : Hey its the mapogo's that did attack! So The Mapogo's choose themselve's to get into a situation they could not win!

Its the Mapogo's themselves that gotten Doom about them!

I dont know which coalition of new young brave lions chased them away .. But i was told ( dont now if this is true) ! That it was a coalition of young males from the Styx and The Windmill Pride. ( You can correct me if i am wrong).

But again .. Mr Kinky Tail was some male Lion! May he rest in peace in Lion Heaven!
Unfortunately, the archives do not seem to be working. Can you tell me the status is on the older archives? I was trying to post a link to the July 14 2009 sighting of Kinky Tail and Mr. T and not available.

Thanks,

Patti
