First and foremost is our beloved friend Wonky of course. Very easily identified by his defects. He has one curly tusk that is very kudu antler like that grows downward from his chin area. Secondly he has a deformity on his hind left (I think) leg and side. He has a very fun gate...we like to call it his swagger.

Collared Female - We have seen her around quite a few times. She is part of a good sized breeding herd. She is also the one Pieter had a moment with during the first WE Walk. Lisa and I have been trying to find out which collaring program she is with. So far noone can lay claims to her yet. We thought she may have been one of the females that were collared for the interpark transfer from Kruger to Mozambique national parks but they can not get a clear enough shot from the WE cam shots of her to make an ID. If you have any more info on this ellie let me know.

Until we KNOW who she is...I just call her Cranky lol.

Onetengo - Is an ellie that Pieter has named by combining the Shangaan name for a forktailed drongo (montengo) and the fact that this ellie only has one tusk.
Half Eared Female - This one I am not overly familiar with other than she has peeked a lot of people's curiousity with her half ear. I believe she still remains unnamed by WE. She had a calf with her the last time she was spotted. I also have no good snap or capture of her that I could find on the system. Feel free to add one if you have one.
I am not sure...but that is a great shot of her ear. Hopefully Pieter comes to have a peek at it and let us know if she has a name or not.
Here are another two close up's of her ear for you Stacey.

I don't have a pic of Half Ear but here is a picture of her recent calf.

Here is a pic of Walla and her calf. You could tell Walla apart from the other Ellies because her right tusk curves downward and in. You could see it a little in this pic.

For a couple of days, we kept seeing this females' herd on the afternoon drives. Pieter kept noting how bulky this matriarch looked compared to other elephants. She was not the largest female he has ever seen but she was bulky. I think we should name her Bulky

Bull elephant we saw today Nov. 6, 2008 with Pieter. He has quite even tusks (even though Peiter explains they were both once broken). Pieter was thinking to give him a name. He called this bull Even Steven because of his tusks.

The Mystery of Discipline

Self-discipline is often estimated as an important component to be effective - be it research or profession or personal life. The traditional concept of discipline seems to be deceiving. It is often recognized as something that is associated with a set of firm guidelines, worry, power, exterior management and penalties. The misconception is probably a impact of the unnecessary attempt of most
