Graham, I like the size of the new window, and that it can be made full-screen, but now it doesn't seem to have a cache. I usually use QT with my Mac, so I can rewind and get better snaps for Flickr. Will this no longer be possible?

Also I emailed to the webmaster addy and didn't get an auto-response. Will that be added so we know emails are received, or should we just post on this forum when we have questions?

Thanks for all the great drives and improvements you are always adding.

Pat

I use Fraps for both video & still pix capture but it won't capture video from the Flash feed. I read that is an issue that will be worked on. I just hope those of us who like to capture video & create movies aren't forced to purchase a video capture program.

Actually, I got a reply from Graham already. He said the new site will have a place to go back and re-view the action. I guess it is the time-shift type that other sites use. I will be able to take my snaps from that.

He also stated he wasn't sure if the new addy had an auto-response or not. I'm guessing it didn't today but might in the future.

I did a test video from the new site using Snaps Pro. It worked just fine.

Thanks again to Graham for the info.

Problems I have encountered so far.

I cannot view the player in Firefox. I get sound but no live
stream picture
.

I have tried changing many of my settings, disabling pop-up blocker and
adblock features but nothing works to correct this.

My Firefox version is 2.0.0.14

On IE 6, I can view the player and get sound just fine. The page
tends to hang when first loading saying it has so many items remaining - downloading picture from http://zaplive.tv... or photobucket, etc.

The page when viewing through IE6 has the orange bar that is suppose
to be at the bottom stuck in the middle of my page. Example:

Picture of the Bar

Thanks!

Hi, I have IE 7 and FF3. I am having no problems getting the cam. Love the new wide screen.

Hi Kathy, I use Fraps too and am somewhat saddened that I will not be able to capture shots. I know there are the click and drag programs, but you don't get very good quality from those, as I have tried to use it on moving video before. I have no clue what I am going to do about that and I won't have pictures to keep my blog updated.

Aquila, I use Firefox as well and unfortunately, some pages and programs will not work in Firefox efficiently, if at all. It's a pain, because it forces the person to use IE!

I use FireFox and already downloaded Flash 9 in preparation for this and tested both my MWSnap program as well as ScreenVirtuoso Pro and both work. I'm able to do both image captures and video recording.

I use IE7 and dont get the bar like you Aquila it works fine. The flash pic seems a little pixelated though.. Maybe because its a night time view? But my Fraps wont capture the screen..to take movies or pics... :(

Scatron, are you able to take captures while you are recording? If you can, with which program or both?

CamStudio will record the streaming Flash. It is a free program, but it does not do captures. You can also save to a .flv or an .avi file.

Actually, I don't know. I've never tried to do both at the same time, knowing the cursor would also get recorded.

isnt there something you can click for no cursor I know on Fraps there is a box you click and the cursor wont show.

ILP Membership Scheme

I want to walk into the office of the CEO of Mpumalanga Parks Board next week, armed with your support and confirm our help to prevent senseless killings of wild unfenced Leopards throughout the province.
Next year will be our ten year anniversary and the biggest yet for the ILP. Provincial authorities have no funds or people to tackle the issues at hand and have asked for our help. We must act now to conserve the dwindling leopard population. Time is slipping away, but we need funds to tackle the problems and mobilise a team. That is why we have put together a membership scheme. Please make a small donation (your choice, but please don't hold back), and become a member of the ILP. You'll receive regular updates from the front line of wildlife conservation and a voucher worth $380 which you can redeem against a 2010 Wildlife Safari with On Track Safaris.
Donations can be made by credit card via our UK Representatives Research Cam www.researchcam.com. All funds raised go to the ILP.
Paste the link below into your browser:

Thanks in advance

Kevin offers his support

We received a boost this week when large carnivore behaviour specialist Kevin Richardson agreed to work more closely with the ILP, offering his skills and expert knowledge to assist us with upcoming projects. As most of you will know, Kevin has been associated with the ILP for many years, since he presented In Search of a Legend - Black Leopard. After hearing of our busy schedule and need for more assistance, Kevin was quick to offer his support and expertise to the ILP team. He brings a unique insight into the behaviour of carnivores, which will dovetail well with our operations in 2010.
We face some huge challenges next year and need more support both from experts and research volunteers. Let me know if you can help.
