yes I thought I started that disucssion topic in the blog fourm???dont know what happened there?
anyway first step in a good blog is write what you know about or write about something you want to know about? meaning if you have a question or an insight express it and ask people to respond.
Question or insights blogs should be short and to the point like ....why are parking spaces getting bigger but parking spots getting smalller? or if people in north america are getting bigger why are clothes sizes decreasing to size zero and negative numbers too?
Its all about the replies and discussion or interaction.

Then there is a blog that tells a story and is about that storytelling and not about discusssing an idea or concept with the reader afterwards. I break these rules regulary they are not set in stone. I love to write long editorials on issues that encourage thinking and discussion...;)

And thirdly a blog can simply be creative writing, fiction or non fiction.
I encourage anyone who wishes to develop good writing and blog skills to write everyday. Not necessarily a published blog but go into word and wrte something - ideas for future blogs etc. This keeps your mind fresh! And that last bit of advice for today is to start a blog! BUT write - rewrite in word first then read and re read many times before you post to make it as concise and well written as possible. I started writing on my space just for the heck of it and found I had a knack and slowly built up a small following. It was alot of work but also a lot of fun.

SO go start your blogs today! If you are writing one let me know so I can check them out!!! cheers.

start a blog today! tell us a story in the daily life of Taffy! Two to three paragraphs about something that happened recently that inspired you? pissed you off? shocked you? Our day to day lives seem boring until you see the events that unfold as a possible story to share with others then the seemingly dull can be twisted to peak someones interest. Comedians do this, take the mundane and show us the humour in it. So show people your insights, the thoughts you think but maybe dont always have a venue to share or express!

Bo turns up after three weeks

We had been quite concerned about Bo, who you may remember is a two year old male leopard who we are tracking via a GPS collar. We hadn't received any uploads from Bo's collar for three weeks and to say the least we were getting worried. However he has turned up alive and well and as you can see, he's been a busy boy. The collar stores data and uploads at set times if he is in cell phone range. Thankfully he has moved back into cell coverage. Our thanks to Lela and other ILP members who have been tracking Bo from their homes and keeping us updated. We don't always have a good Internet connection here in the bush, and rely on help from our friends. You can also join the ILP and help us track research animals.

Susan joins the ILP team

We have a new member of the ILP team. Susan Belling has joined us to help with our work in conservation. Susan is a qualified Game Ranger and has recently been leading overland Safaris through main land Africa. Susan wants to pout something back into conservation and has decided to work full time with the ILP. She has been training with Gerrie and Anton over the last weeks, investigating leopard issues on local farms and tracking leopards via telemetry. She is now joining Anton on her first Black Leopard investigation at the Dalton Trust in KZN. Where she will be putting her training into action under the supervision of head researcher Anton. If you would like to welcome Susan then you can become a fan by selecting the link below.
