A place to ask WE management questions.
Many of you have questions that you would like answered. WE have a way for you to ask the presenters questions by emailing Final Control (finalcontrol@wildearth.tv) The director chooses which questions to ask and reads them to the presenter. However, sometimes the questions are a little difficult for the presenter to answer or they have nothing to do with what is happening on the screen. This is the place to ask those sorts of questions of the WildEarth management.

Apparently you did, CarolJ........This from June 15 Announcements.
WE Ning has been opened to non-members BUT all of our Member's personal area's, as in Members Pages and Blogs, have now been changed to members only.
Only certain areas will be accessible as a non-member, such as Groups, Forums, Databases, Photos and Videos.
Your My Pages and Blogs as well as the Chat room, will remain Member only.

Wondering why my feed for WE is so poor. I can watch Pete's pond and all the other cams with no problem. Just WE stopping a LOT ...thanks for any suggestions.

One reason could be that those feeds originate in the US, while our feed is streamed from Europe and that transatlantic bottlenecks cause this difference.

The bottleneck seems to have worked it's way out of the area. All is good now.

It would be great if someone could get the pump fixed and pump some water back into the little pan so we could have some night viewing too. The camera on the dam can't pick up anything at night, unfortunately.

Hi,
Sorry for the delay. We've all been very busy (and I've been on leave ;-). The reason for sometimes not putting the cam on the dam at night is the distance to the IR lights, which makes that a very blurry picture. The solution is to move the cam and lights to a position that gives us a decent view of an area where animals might come at night.
When I get back to Djuma towards the end of next week, WE'll start working on that.

Bo turns up after three weeks
We had been quite concerned about Bo, who you may remember is a two year old male leopard who we are tracking via a GPS collar. We hadn't received any uploads from Bo's collar for three weeks and to say the least we were getting worried. However he has turned up alive and well and as you can see, he's been a busy boy. The collar stores data and uploads at set times if he is in cell phone range. Thankfully he has moved back into cell coverage. Our thanks to Lela and other ILP members who have been tracking Bo from their homes and keeping us updated. We don't always have a good Internet connection here in the bush, and rely on help from our friends. You can also join the ILP and help us track research animals.

Susan joins the ILP team
We have a new member of the ILP team. Susan Belling has joined us to help with our work in conservation. Susan is a qualified Game Ranger and has recently been leading overland Safaris through main land Africa. Susan wants to pout something back into conservation and has decided to work full time with the ILP. She has been training with Gerrie and Anton over the last weeks, investigating leopard issues on local farms and tracking leopards via telemetry. She is now joining Anton on her first Black Leopard investigation at the Dalton Trust in KZN. Where she will be putting her training into action under the supervision of head researcher Anton.
